My Homelab

Beyond the airwaves, my other passion is building, breaking, and rebuilding things with compute, networks, and code. This site is served from a half-height rack at my home in Holly Springs — a compact but serious homelab that doubles as a hands-on learning environment. It runs on symmetrical gigabit fiber and is backed by 24/7 emergency power, so a utility outage is a footnote, not a shutdown. Tucked in among the servers, you'll also find a low-power GMRS community repeater on 462.675 MHz (DPL073), because the rack might as well carry a second voice.

There is also a S.A.M.E. alert receiver linked to the GMRS repeater which simulcasts alerts issued by National Weather for Wake County. Users of this repeater benefit from timely emergency alerts sent to their GMRS radios.
